Recipes to Help Prevent a Dog From Getting Cancer

With the introduction of commercial dog food we have seen the rise of cancer soar in dogs. Dry dog food is convenient to give your dog as it won’t go off during the day but often times lower quality ingredients go into these products. They can be overprocessed, chemical filled and contain synthetic vitamins, therefore your dog is suffering because of it. It doesn’t take much to throw together an anti cancer dog food recipe and your dog will be happier in the long run because of it.

Anti Cancer Vegetables

We’ve all been told not to feed our dogs scraps from the dinner table but that advice is outdated. In fact what you eat can be just as appropriate for your dog to eat. One group of vegetables that is extremely beneficial for your dog is cruciferous vegetables. This group of vegetables includes broccoli, brussell sprouts, cabbage, kale, bok choy and cauliflower. They are full of different properties but notably they contain a phytochemical called isothiocyanates which supports a dog’s body to break down carcinogens which contribute to the fomation of cancer.

Recipe Ingredients

It may seem like a lot more hard work to make up your dog’s meals, but in the long run your pooch will be around a lot longer if you do. Even if you just provide your dog with a homemade evening meal, you will be making a significant impact on his health and well-being.

Dogs need a balance of protein, grains and vegetables.

As a base you could throw together:

4 cups of uncooked rice
9 cups of water
1/4 cup of oats
1 tsp salt
Bring to the boil and add

parsley chopped fine
2 beaten eggs
8 oz ground beef, chicken or lamb
3 oz liver
3 tablespoons corn oil
2 cups of vegetables chopped fine (preferably cruciferous vegetables)
Simmer for 20 minutes until the water is absorbed.

Supplement Mix

1 cup brewers yeast
1 cup wheatgerm
1/8 cup powdered kelp
You can add 1 tsp of a supplement mix to 30 lbs of dog weight.

Spread it out into a container and cut into squares. If you have a small dog you could put each piece into a freezer bag and freeze it, taking out at your convenience.

Now more than ever providing your dog with an anti cancer dog food recipe is needed. Humans and household pets are up against a major challenge with the pollutants in the air, the preservatives in our food and the chemicals in our homes. Controlling your dog’s diet is one thing you can do to minimize the effects our modern society is having on their health.
