Check out this website it has lots of info on each breed of small dogs and the care that they need- http://www.allsmalldogbreeds.com/small-dogs.html
My personal opinion is to go with a yorkie. My yorkie learned fast- training was very simple- as long as you are consistent. I also think that her personality is great!
My sister has a Chihuahua and he is smart too, but was harder to train and much more active then my yorkie.
Good luck- whatever you choose make sure the puppy or dog meets your needs and you are up for the challenge of a new dog. It is a great thing to have a great companion.

I know you may want a small dog but with having a Rottweiler It really isn’t safe because that Rottweiler could really hurt the small dog maybe not even meaning to just playing.I want a kitten but I can’t have one right now because of my Pomeranian.Sometimes you just have make sacrifices for your babies. You can get one when your current big dog passes. That is what is best at the moment for everyone.I even want a German Shepherd but it really isn’t wise unless you introduce both as puppies but even then there is still a danger from jealousy and the size difference.
