What Is the Size Difference Beteen a Chihuahua and a Teacup Yorkshire Terrier?

I’m getting a teacup yorkie and I know someone who has a chihuahua. So I just want to know how much bigger or smaller is a teacup yorkie to a chihuahua so I know what I’m expecting. Help very much appreciated.

There is No Such Thing as a Teacup in any breed. That’s just a stupid name that BYB came up with, when they breed one Runt (smallest puppy in the litter) to another Runt in order to achieve smaller puppies. Runts should Never be bred. They are too tiny and not built to carry and whelp (deliver) puppies. A standard Yorkie weighs 7 pounds and a standard Chihuahuas weight should not be over 6 pounds. All you need to do is study each breed, find the breed that fits your lifestyle and go with that breed, so you know what to expect.

Well, a standard Yorkie is anything that weighs less that 7 pounds. Chihuahuas are supposed to weigh less than 6 pounds.

Since there is no minimum weight for either of these breeds, there’s not really any such thing as a teacup size. Even the "teacups" are less than 6 pounds, and I think it’s an incredible joke that the more expensive dogs are really just plain old standard yorkies and chihuahuas hahahaha

A teacup yorki is 5-6 inches tall and a chihuahua is 12-15 inches.

I hope you have thousands of dollars lying around. Tea cups are always sickly backyard bred dogs

DO NOT get a "Teacup" Yorkie THEY DON’T exist.

Its the runt of the litter. You can only get a "Teacup" From terrible BYB breeders and it will cost you many vet bills and a short life for the puppy.

Seriously, just get a regular Yorkie, they’re small and still just as loveable.

But if you’re dead set on this "Teacup" Yorkie I hope you have money.

A responsible breeder would never label a dog as a "Teacup"

Go to a good breeder recommended by others or to a shelter :)
